Video Installation 2018
A “Reproduction of a Forgotten Scene” is a non linear narrative video installation that transgresses the narrative from the individual towards the collective. The structure is wrapped in a material which creates a light sculpture, the use of material interconnects the various realms of reality we inhabit. The materiality also depicts ideas of the impermanence of life. This piece was to a great extent a self exploration through the readings of Carl Jung. There is an interplay in our modes of consciousness, layers to the human psyche, in this piece I aim to pull from all the things in which I do not understand. The imagery depicted disrupts and abstracts perceived realities, this is in hopes to open a dialogue to question the constructs on both our conscious state and the unconscious mind. The fragmentation of the narrative deals with inner and outer world battles between the mind, the body and materiality.
